The epic film trilogy The Lord of the Rings is based on novel written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Set in the fictional world, of Middle-earth, the films follow the hobbit Frodo Baggins as he and the Fellowship embark on a quest to destry the One Ring, to ensure the destruction of its maker, the Dark Lord Sauron. This results in breathtaking drama in a critically acclaimed film series.
The succes of the films is due to the epic score composed by Howard Shore. His extensive comoposition consist of many themes varying from peacful and lovely to heroic and brute.
This arrangement contains both the famous as less popular themes, which follow the storyline of the trilogy. Just like in the first film, the arrangement opens with the prologe in which the history of the ring is told. Subsequently more peaceful themes of the hobbits are included. The tension builds when the dark forces gain power. This results in a heroic fight with a important role for the bass en percussion groups. The arrangement ends with broad and peaceful themes. Altogether a magnificent arrangement which is an addition for your public friendly but challenging performance.
