A Bug’s Life, is a computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animations Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. The film involves a misfit ant, Flik, who is looking for “tough warriors” to save his colony from a gang of grasshoppers.
The original score was written by Randy Newman (known from Toy Story). The suite consists of many themes from the score, with both the peaceful life in the colony and the struggle to scare away the grasshoppers. This results in a challenging arrangement with peaceful, jazzy and heroic themes. For the woodwinds this arrangement is particularly difficult due to the technical passages.
